The TSC Research Program in 2005 |

In 2004, advocates from TS Alliance succeeded in convincing US Congress to appropriate $3.2 million in fiscal year 2005 for the TSC Research Program (TSCRP) administered by the Department of Defense.
Funding for the TSCRP brings the TS Alliance closer to one of its most critical research goals: launching a natural history study that would allow scientists to track and analyze the clinical progress of individuals suffering from TSC. Such studies are needed to stimulate new systematic research into the disorder. A portion of the TSCRP funds will be used to begin this process by granting awards to researchers to conduct natural history studies.
