Congratulations Camperdown! A Day To Remember As there are not many TSC affected families in the Western District of Victoria, Lily Kerr & family decided to use the Annual TSC Picnic Day as a fundraising opportunity, to raise much-needed funds for the Genetic Diagnostic Laboratory recently opened by SEALS, in association with The Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick. The Picnic day, held on Sunday November 25, 2007 at the Camperdown Racecourse (Victoria), was a huge success, attended by around 400 people who brought along their picnic lunch and enjoyed an afternoon of music provided by local talent. A jumping castle, merry-go-round, train rides and face painting kept the children entertained and the jolly old man in red also took some time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit!
The Kerr family are very proud to be a part of the generous Camperdown community (& surrounding districts) & thank them wholeheartedly for their support. The day raised just in excess of $10,000 which was a tremendous effort by all involved but also helped along by the fact that everything including venue, entertainment, raffle and auction prizes, was donated by friends, family and local businesses who read about our fundraising day in the local newspapers. This day has played a big part in raising TSC awareness within our local community and we are pleased to be able to contribute such a significant amount of money towards such an important cause. The ATSS Genetic Diagnostic Laboratory is now a reality for Lily Kerr's family and other families living with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. More photos from the day:
