New ATSS Constitution Print E-mail

In preparation for the 30th Anniversary of the foundation of the Australasian Tuberous Sclerosis Society in 2011, the ATSS Committee has undertaken a review of the Articles of Association and produced a new Constitution for ATSS. Adoption of this Constitution will be put to a vote at the Annual General Meeting of ATSS in August.

ATSS is registered in NSW; consequently it must comply with the regulations of NSW Fair Trading. In accordance with the government guidelines, the ATSS Constitution has been reviewed and follows the model rules established by NSW Fair Trading. A number of Committee members have spent many hours reviewing the existing document which will be presented to the 2010 Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 22 August, at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, for adoption by the members.

As it is quite a lengthy document the Committee decided to make it available on the website for members to access rather than print hundreds of pages which would need mailing. This decision was made in the best interest of the environment and also aims to reduce ATSS costs. The process has been quite transparent and the new constitution is available here.

Details of proxy voting arrangements are in the new constitution. these are unchanged from the current constitution so the proxy form (appendix 1) can be re-used if you would like to vote at the AGM but cannot attend.
