Sunday November 7 will see the successful Top of Mind Symposium come to Brisbane. ATSS will again be organising a TSC stream within this day. The Top of Mind is a one day symposium for parents/carers of an infant, child or teenager with epilepsy.
There will be major presentations on issues of generic medications, epilepsy and childhood, employment and effects of epilepsy and medication on learning and behaviour and much more by key speakers, including neurologists and other specialists in epilepsy.
The format will include an opening and morning plenary session followed by specialised streams:
- Parenting infants and children
- Parenting teens
- Tuberous sclerosis complex
with a final afternoon plenary session. There will also be an exhibition of products and services that are of benefit to people with epilepsy and/or carers.

ATSS is raising funds to research the development of a Rapamycin Topical Cream that will aim to reduce the growths (angiofibromas) associated with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex on the face. This would eliminate the need for painful laser surgery.

The fundraising target is $200,000, of which $120,000 has been raised so far. If you would like to help ATSS reach this fundraising goal you can donate here. All donations $2 and over are tax deductible.
